LEDBETTER, Ky. - Funeral services for Mona Dorton, 55, of Ledbetter will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Bishop Scott Sallee and Bishop Erby Reed will officiate. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Dorton died Thursday at 4:45 p.m. at her home.
Formerly of Marshall County, Mona was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ and was active in the Moose Club and Bass and Gals Club.
She is survived by her husband, Turner Lee "Bud" Dorton; a daughter, Melissa Renee Picka Jones of Paducah; two sons, Eddie Wilson Taber II of Mayfield and Paul Everett Tabor of Hardin; a stepdaughter, Cherie Zundel of Paducah; a sister, Lora Luella Butler of Marshall County; two brothers, James Edward Stokes Jr. of Paducah and Wayne David Cash II of Marshall County; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward Stokes and Aureba Lavern Walker Stokes Cash; and an infant son, James Taber.
Visitation will begin after 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to The Church of Jesus Christ, 4225 Benton Rd., Paducah, KY 42003.
