MAYFIELD - Melva Jean Gossum, 83, of Mayfield died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at her home.
She was a homemaker and a member of Trace Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas Gossum; one son, Steve Gossum of Calvert City; one daughter, Connie Mansfield of Panama City Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Her parents were Robert and Libby Armstrong King.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2013, at Maplelawn Cemetery in Paducah with the Revs. Harold Council and Ronnie Stinson Jr. officiating.
Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to The Humane Society.
